What is Directorship?

Directorship with The ARTS means leading and inspiring the next generation of talent. Our Directors scout, mentor, and prepare performers in their local communities, guiding them toward professional opportunities while representing The ARTS with excellence.

How do I get started?

Becoming an ARTS Director starts with a conversation. Interested leaders schedule a consult with Kim Myers, our Executive Producer, and Marlana Glaeser, our Director’s Liaison. Together, we’ll walk you through the expectations, training, and support provided, and help you determine if Directorship is the right fit. From there, you’ll join a network of mentors who are shaping the next generation of artists.

Why The ARTS?

The ARTS isn’t a cattle-call convention—it’s a boutique event with a family-oriented atmosphere. Every participant is known by name, guided with care, and presented in front of the right decision-makers. Talent is not only educated and showcased but also positioned for immediate opportunity, with a high probability of being signed or working within the first week after the event—just like many of our current alumni.

Why me/my business?

Directorship with The ARTS is more than mentoring talent—it’s a business opportunity. As a Director, you’ll gain access to an incredible wholesale margin, allowing you to build a profitable program while serving your community. You’ll also receive ongoing support, resources, and industry connections that help you grow both your business and your impact.

What Directorship IS NOT:

  • Myth: Directorship is a franchise or “pay-to-play” scheme.
Truth: It’s a relationship-driven role built on mentoring and leadership, not a buy-in gimmick.

  • Myth: Directorship is hands-off—you just send talent to an event.
Truth: Directors are actively engaged in preparing, guiding, and supporting their talent every step of the way. In fact, we require you to be in attendance with your talent.

  • Myth: Directorship means competing against other Directors.
Truth: Our Directors collaborate as part of a national network, sharing resources and celebrating each other’s wins. Our program works as a B2B networking as well!YOU

  • Myth: Negative reviews prove the ARTS isn’t legitimate.
Truth: Every negative comment has come from someone who has never attended. In three decades of producing The ARTS, not one participant has left with a bad review.

  • Myth: Directorship is only for people with a certain background.
Truth: Directors come from many walks of life—dance teachers, actors, coaches, educators, even parents of performers. What matters is passion for mentorship, not a single résumé.

  • Myth: Directorship is just about business.
Truth: It’s a calling to develop people. Yes, it’s profitable, but the focus is on shaping lives, not chasing transactions.

  • Myth: There’s a huge startup cost.
Truth: There is no startup cost! What you decide to invest into your Directorship is completely up to you.
