Applause International Internship Guidelines
1. Eligibility Requirements​

Open to ARTS alumni (previous participants of the ARTS Showcase) or parents of Alumni.

Applicants must be 18+ years old.

Must demonstrate a strong interest in the performing arts or event production (e.g., singing, acting, dancing, modeling, or related industries).

2. Roles and Responsibilities​
Interns may assist in several key areas, such as:

Event Coordination: Support set-up, backstage management, etc.
-
Talent Support: Guide participants through auditions and showcase activities, helping with check-ins and backstage preparation.

Marketing & Social Media: Create content, capture live moments, and assist with social media needs during showcase.

Customer Relations: Answer attendee questions and help parents, participants, and talent representatives on-site.

Operations: Assist with logistics, such as distributing materials and maintaining event flow.

3. Learning Outcomes and Mentorship

Interns will receive hands-on experience in event planning, talent management, and operations.

Each intern will work alongside the Dream Team for feedback, guidance, and professional development throughout the event.

Workshops or brief training sessions may be provided, such as behind-the-scenes event management insights.

4. Attendance and Time Commitment
-
Interns must be available for the entire duration of the showcase.

Interns are required to attend orientation and training sessions (online) prior to the event.

Punctuality and professionalism are expected throughout the event to ensure smooth operations.

5. Dress Code and Presentation
-
Interns should adhere to the event dress code.

Professional, kind, and friendly demeanor is required when interacting with participants, parents, and industry professionals.

6. Code of Conduct
-
Interns represent Applause International and must conduct themselves in a way that reflects the organization’s values of professionalism, positivity, and respect.

Confidentiality regarding participant information and event details is required.

Any form of unprofessional behavior, lateness, or failure to meet responsibilities will result in dismissal from the program.

7. Compensation and Benefits

This is an unpaid internship, but participants will gain:

Industry exposure and networking opportunities.

A certificate of completion and a professional reference upon successful completion.

Free access to observe workshops and showcase events during the internship, when not fulfilling intern duties.

8. Application and Selection Process

Applicants must submit:

A completed application form.
-
A short statement about why they wish to intern.
-
A reference from a teacher, mentor, or previous ARTS staff member.

Selected applicants will be notified by email and offered a brief interview.

9. Safety and Emergency Procedures

Interns must familiarize themselves with the event’s emergency protocols and report any incidents immediately to The Dream Team or event coordinators.

Health and safety protocols will be communicated in advance, and compliance is required.

10. Liability Release
-
By participating in the internship, interns release Applause International and its affiliates from any liability in the event of an emergency or unforeseen incident. Interns acknowledge they are responsible for their personal safety and well-being throughout the internship period.

Interns are responsible for arranging and covering the costs of their travel and accommodations for the duration of the showcase. Interns are required to stay at the designated showcase property and must check in by the morning of the event’s start date. ARTS staff will provide a hotel room discount link as part of the accommodation options.
